Mary Etta Banks gained her heavenly angel wings on April 10th, 2025, in Oak Ridge, TN. She was born on March 6th, 1944, in Campbell County, Tennessee. She proceeds in death by her husband: Robert Banks and ex: husband Verldon Byrge whom she still loved; her grandparents: Sarah Seiber(Richard Seiber) and Henry Hawkins(Rachel Hawkins); parents: Simon Hawkins(Ellen Hawkins); her brother Bob(BI); her sons: Paul Byrge and Gary Wayne Byrge(Pooch).
She is survived by her brother: Albert Hawkins; sisters: Pauline Bray and Bernice Phillips; daughters and son: Gretta Lynn Boshears and partner Charlie, Angie Raina Byrge, Amanda Joyce Cooper and husband Sherman Cooper, Matthew Scott Byrge and partner Heather; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Valetta Miller and husband Nathan Miller, and her children Natalie and Conner Miller, Andrew Satterfield and his children Alexander and Journey Satterfield, Rebecca Higgins and husband Eric Higgins, and her children Kayden, Liam, Konner, Layla, Roy, Isaac, and Marleigh Higgins, Tyler Satterfield, Derek Byrge, Ashley Wiseman, and her son Carson Wiseman, Joshua Byrge and partner Allison and his children Jordan, Dylan, Emilee, Cason, and Cordelia Byrge, Bridget Cooper and partner Danny and her children Breahna Cooper and Addisyn Daughtery, Haley, Alexis, Christopher and wife Maci, Anna, Bryson, Kimberlie Stewart and husband Blake Stewart, and her children Titan and Krisley Stewart, Logan Sexton, Blake Cooper, Chandler Cooper and partner Makayla, and his children Averie and Aurdie Cooper, Skyla Reynolds and husband Connor Reynolds, and her children Cannon and Colton Reynolds, Aaron, Jacob, Madelynn, Lukas and Levi. Along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Mary was raised on New River with her family. She was a woman of faith and religion who loved the Lord wholeheartedly. She will be remembered for her big heart, beautiful personality, crystal blue eyes, dancing, Jersey cows, attending races, country cooking, traveling to explore new places, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and all things country. She loved her dog rascal. But, nothing compared to the love she had for her mother, father, siblings, daughters, sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She will always be admired for her heart that loved so fiercely. As Dolly once said, "Storms make trees grow deeper roots". Although losing her; is a storm to weather for her family, the roots she planted amongst them will give them the strength they need to weather the storm together. She will be missed by all her loved ones, family, and friends very much. She was a very special person to so many.
The family will receive family and friends 4:00-6:00 pm, Monday, April 14, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel with Pastor Lee Murphy. Her graveside service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Grandview Memorial Garden. Holly Gamble in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
