Martha Bernice Rosenbalm-Lay, 95, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimers. Mrs. Lay was born in Claiborne County, TN to Clayton and Amanda Etta Rosenbalm. She was a devout follower of God and was saved at the age of 13. She was a member of Straight Creek Baptist Church, then became a member of Cherry Bottom Baptist Church for the last 30 years of her life.

Mrs. Lay was the truest child of God anyone could imagine. She was known for her grace, love, forgiveness, and many prayers over everyone she knew - and didn't know. Her favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace" and would often sing it at church, with her grandchildren, and anytime in between. She was a constant reminder to everyone she encountered that love should be always be unconditional. For the last 15 years of her life, she battled the uncurable disease Alzheimers. Though she may have forgotten faces and names, her love, protection, honor, and meekness will remain unforgettable in the lives she so dearly touched.

She is preceeded in death by father and mother Clayton and Amanda Etta Rosenbalm; brothers Luther, Theodore, and Herbert Rosenbalm; sisters Onlee Cutshaw, Eileen Barr, and Anna England; husband Herbert Glenn Lay, and daughter Glenda Parrott. She leaves behind to cherish her memory loving and devoted sister June Wolfenbarger, granddaughter Stacey Abbott, great grandchildren Sarah Abbott, Jonathan and wife Gates Abbott. Many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to caregivers Beth Treadway and Wilma Wilson.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Wednesday< December 30, 2020 from 5-7pm with the funeral service to follow at 7pm with Joe Abbott officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Ridgeview Cemetery on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11am for her burial. www.holleygamble.com
