Marjorie "Margie" Anne Behre beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2025, in her home in Andersonville, TN, at the age of 81.
Born on March 14, 1943, in Knoxville, TN, Margie lived a life marked by determination, compassion, and selflessness. She dedicated her time and energy to her family and friends, as she was the heart and soul of the family. Margie was also an inspiring and resilient hard worker, labeled the first female Boilermaker in Knoxville, TN.
Margie was deeply cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by her spouse Benford Bruce Behre II; her children, Angela Branch, Jim Lindsey,Nicole (Andy) Hensley; her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, all who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Margie was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Mayes; mother, Dorcas Mayes; brothers, Bill Langston and Clifford Mayes; sisters, Joyce Daugherty and Delores Crippen; and son, Benford Bruce Behre III.
A celebration of Margie's life will be held this Spring. Friends and family will be notified later regarding this remembrance to honor the beautiful legacy Margie leaves behind. Margie's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She was strong-willed but humble; honest, but gentle, she was one of a kind.
