Mrs. Blanche Marie Modlin Broadwell, age 87, has passed away at her assisted living facility in Powell, TN on April 7, 2017. Marie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wallace Perry Broadwell, her daughter, Alicia Kay Broadwell Porter (Clinton, TN), and her son, David Kimball Broadwell (Rochester, NY) as well as four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and special friend, Hope Leab.
Kay and her husband, Wallace Porter, have two sons, Samuel Glenn and Aaron Kimball. Samuel and his wife Susan have two daughters, Addison and Emily, and Aaron and his wife Lynnsey have one daughter, Elearie.
Marie's son Kim is married to Christine Wilmot, and they have a son, Gregory. Kim also has a daughter, Jessica Whitney, from a previous marriage.
Marie and Wallace raised their family in the Atlanta, GA area before moving to Norris, TN in 1989. She enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time at the beach and spending time with loved ones. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who knew her as a loving, gentle and patient soul, and a mother who would do anything for her family.
Services will be held at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
