Margaret Simmerman Viar, age 96 of Clinton passed away at her residence on Saturday, January 16, 2021.  She was born January 5, 1925 in Jacksons Ferry, Virginia to the late Herman Otto and Silva Simmerman.  Throughout her life she loved cross word puzzles, drawing, sewing, square dancing, listening to music, and was an avid reader.  In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lawrence Viar; sons, Lawrence Viar and Kenneth Viar; brothers, William Trenton Simmerman, Henry Simmerman, and infant brother.

She is survived by grandchildren, Donna Jean Clevenger & husband Tim, Margaret Lorraine Viar, Lesley Orr Cody Cable, Adam John Viar, and Devin McKinley Viar; great grandchildren, Kadence McKinley Viar, Greyson Wade Viar, and Zane Cody; daughter-in-law, Rebecca McKinney Viar; numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends 12:00-1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services to follow in the chapel.  Her graveside service will be private.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  holleygamble.com
