Margaret (Margie) Carver Wallace Henderson (Age 91) of Clinton, TN, passed away at home on Saturday, January 25, 2025, after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. Margie was born April 4th, 1933, in Harriman, TN, to the late John and Tracey Carver. She grew up in Knoxville, TN, and graduated from Rule High School class of 1951. Her career spanned more than four decades at the Atomic Energy Commission and its predecessor organizations, the Energy Research and Development Administration, and the Department of Energy.
Margie adored her family, and cherished family above everything else. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, flower gardening, and traveling, particularly beach vacations. She also enjoyed many years as a member of The Volunteer Travelers Square Dance Group.
Margie is survived by her loving husband Wallace Henderson of Clinton, TN; sister, Sue Boatman of Clinton, TN; sister-in-law, Yoshiko Carver of Powell, TN; daughter, Susan Tackett (Alan) of Clinton, TN; son, Jeff Wallace (Martie) of Powell, TN; grandchildren, Greg Tackett (Missy) of Jacksboro, TN, Monica Farner (Glenn) of Nashville, TN, and Lauren Brown of Powell, TN; great-grandchildren, Emily and Seth Tackett, William and Anna Grace Farner, and Landon and Aiden Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Tracey Carver, brother, Don Carver (Yoshiko), brother-in-law, James Boatman (Sue), and her former husband and father of her children, Joe Wallace.
The family sincerely appreciates Nicole Farrell and Goldie Byrge for the loving care and tremendous dedication shown while providing private home care for Margie and her family throughout her illness. The family also sends a special thank you to nurse Cindy with Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2nd, from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN. The family will have a private graveside service on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
