Margaret Elizabeth Sadler Allen, 97, died Tuesday at Golden Living Nursing Home in Clinton. Margaret was born April 14, 1918 in Jackson County, Tennessee to Robert Lee and Cora Long Sadler. She moved to Anderson County in 1959 where she became known as a master seamstress and avid gardener.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joe Robert Allen and her daughter, Janet Marie Haggard. In addition, she is preceded in death by brothers, Jack and John Sadler and sisters, Alice Minchey, Betty Sadler, June Miller, and Jean Smith.
She is survived by her son, Joe Larry Allen, Sr. and wife Yvonne of Clinton; son-in-law Jim Haggard of Merritt Island, Florida and sister, Nancy Kahn of Culver City, California . She is also survided by five grandchildren: Yvette Allen Cantrell and husband Bruce; Joe Larry Allen, Jr. and wife Stacey; James Haggard; Trevor Haggard and wife Jolene, and Michelle Lee; great grandchildren, Megan and Joey Allen, Courtney Cantrell, Andrew, Erin and Chris Lee, Noah Haggard, and Gavin Haggard, as well as 13 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9th from 2-3PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will begin at 3 o'clock in the chapel. Interment will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.holleygamble.com
