On Monday evening, Oct. 3, 2011, M. Kay Sampson changed her address from Oak Ridge, TN to Heaven. The best way to describe Kay's life would be "what the love of Christ looks like with skin on it." She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart, mind, body and soul. Kay was a member of Ridge Community Church in Oak Ridge, where she lead the prayer team and Ridge Central (Welcoming) team. She was a prayer warrior with a heart to intercede and pray for others. Kay was a first grade teacher at Clinton Elementary School where she had taught for the last 29 years. She had a deep and profound love for others, especially her current and former students and her fellow teachers/administrators.
Kay was preceded in death by two children, her earthly father James Smith, her mother Gladys Smith and older brother James Smith. She is survived by: her husband, Rusty Sampson and daughter Allie Sampson, brother John Smith, sisters Sybil Hock, Connie Romans and Fay Youngblood, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
