Lynn Ivan Hewitt, age 83 of Powell, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Lynn was born on August 31, 1941 in Oak Ridge to Tony and Edith Hewitt. A devoted Christian and Man of God, he was a faithful member of Bishopville Baptist Church until his sickness would not allow him to attend. Lynn was a Mason and loved to attend dirt track and NASCAR races with his best friend, Herman.

His parents, Gordon "Tony" Hewitt and Edith Hewitt preceded him in death along with his son, Michael Hewitt.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Betty Hewitt; sister, Dottie Hewitt; special niece who was named after him, Lynette Barnes; brother-in-law and best friend, Herman Long; special friend, Sherrod Thomas; a host of many nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.

Receiving of Friends will be from 11-1 pm on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm with John Melton officiating. Immediately following the Funeral Service, he will be laid to rest at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
