Luther Edward Massengill, age 67 of Oak Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Edward was born on September 6, 1945 in Campbell County, Tennessee. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War where he received many medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Edward loved the Lord and was a member of the Lafollette Church of Christ. He also enjoyed antique cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Edward is preceded in death by his previous wife and mother of his children, Rosa Lee Massengill; father, Claude Massengill and an infant sister.

The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Minister Darryl Glenn officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 9:15AM and go in funeral procession to the Campbell Memorial Gardens in Lafollette for a 10:00AM interment with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
