Obituary

Lewis Gordon Brown, 84 of Clinton, TN and Naples, FL passed away after a short illness on Friday, February 21, 2025.  Mr. Brown was born in Clinton, TN on November 24, 1940. He attended Clinton High School.  He and his brother David started Brown's Upholstery in Clinton, TN when they were teenagers and operated it successfully until he moved to Naples, FL to semi-retire and live the "good-life."  Not being good at sitting still he started RV Sunshades, securing several patents and traveling the country and successfully operated that company until he officially retired in 2020 at the age of 80 years old.  Gordon's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and the large circle of friends he had in Naples, FL and Clinton, TN.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Edna Stanley and Ed Brown, both of whom were from Clinton and his brother and best friend, David Brown who passed away in 2015.

Gordon Brown ("Papaw") is survived by his children, Jackie and Bert Cooper of Huntsville, Tennessee and Jamie and Steve Jones of Clinton. Gordon is also survived by his grandchildren, Katie and Chris Rogers, Steven and Gabby Jones, Ben and Kate Jones and great-grandchildren, Judith and Marley Rogers.  Gordon had too many friends to list, but the family is especially thankful to Irma Gray of Clinton, TN for being such a good friend in his later life.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  holleygamble.com
