Obituary

Letha Faye Rushton Adkins, known to everyone as Nana, age 98, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

She grew up in Dickson, TN and graduated from Dickson High School. She met Charles Adkins, the love of her life, at a five and dime store before he left to fight in World War II. After he returned home, they were married in 1945 and spent 64 years together. She worked various jobs in Dickson, including the Levi Strauss factory. After moving to Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1953, she was employed for 20 years at Azar's Big Boy restaurants, working her way up from waitress to service supervisor. Following her retirement, she moved to Clinton in 1979. She was an enthusiastic UT Vols fan and for years kept notebooks with her own stats. She was an avid cook and baker, often sending trays of Christmas cookies and candy around Clinton. She was of the primitive baptist faith.
