Lela Wright Prewitt, 88, of Caryville, TN, passed away with her family by her side Monday, February 23, 2015.
Lela was born a "coal miner's daughter" in Alva, KY and spent most of her childhood growing up in the Insull mining camp. She moved to Caryville, TN a few years after getting married, where she and her husband raised their 2 sons in the Vasper community.

Second was her love of her family. Her children and grandchildren were her world and what she lived for. She was also very close with her sisters and shared a deep bond and love with them her entire life. Third was her love of Pat Summitt and the TN Lady Volunteers Basketball team, whom she was a huge fan of for the last 15+ years.
Lela resided her last 3 months in her son's home in Greeneville, TN, where she was blessed with wonderful care from 3 of her granddaughters, Leah, Esther, and Rayanna. Rayanna, having just turned 5, was Lela's sunshine every day and would always put a smile on Lela's face.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband Hershell Prewitt, her father David Wright, her mother Sarah Ethel Wright Lovett, her sisters: Orene, Kathleen, Inez, and Becky, her brothers: John, David,Wayne, and Jerry.
