Lee Roy Copeland, 92 of Oliver Springs went home to be with the Lord on December 12. He was born in Sparta in White County, Tennessee in 1924.
Mr. Copeland was employed at the Y-12 plant and retired from the U.S. post office, both in Oak Ridge. He was last employed by Premier Cleaning in Oak Ridge.
He graduated from White County High School and attended Tennessee Tech University and The University of Tennessee. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He loved God's word and being in prayer with his Heavenly Father. He was faithful in his calling for intercessory prayer for others with prayer needs. His family was truly blessed that he prayed for them by name on a daily basis and who lived a strong Christian life before them every moment of everyday. He taught his family the importance of nurturing their spiritual needs as well as their physical and emotional needs.
He also enjoyed working in the yard with his wife Martha, and helping to meet the immediate needs of his family. He really enjoyed being with his two grandsons. He was intimately involved in every aspect of their lives from birth to adulthood.
Mr. Copeland and his wife were members of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs since 1959.
