Lauvena "Lady Bug" Strickland, age 85 of Clinton, went to Heaven and Heaven gained a sweet angel on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was born on April 28, 1932 to the late Robert Lee and Tilda Massengill Wyrick in Petros, TN. She enjoyed fishing, farming and working in her yard. When she was able, she took pleasure in nature walks on Red Ash Mountain. She loved her family and loved her dogs and was especially passionate about children.
She is preceded in death by husband, R.B. Strickland; son, Bobby Ray Wyrick; Brothers, Pete Wyrick, Harvey Lee Wyrick, and Donald Edward Wyrick; sisters, Murlen Goodman and Joyce Charlene Harness.
She is survived by nephew, but son at heart, Donnie Wyrick and wife Charlotte, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice group for their loving care.
The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 5-7pm with the funeral service to follow at 7pm with Donnie Wyrick officiating. Friends and family will meet at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1pm for her graveside service.
