Obituary


Laura Edna Queener Massengill, age 92 of Caryville, entered into the arms of the Heavenly Father and her husband, Glen on Thursday, January 27, 2011. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be forever remembered and loved. Laura was born on January 8, 1919 in Caryville, Tennessee to the late Richard Jacob Queener and Mossie Belle Cox Queener. As an avid gardener, she could always be remembered working in her garden and harvesting the fruits of her labor. She surrounded her home in roses and grew rows of beautiful iris. In the winter, she loved to quilt at her frame. Her most recent passion was her great grandchildren who knew her as "MiMi". Laura was one of the several founding members of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Caryville where she attended until no longer able.

In addition to her parents, Laura is preceded in death by her loving husband, Glen Massengill; brothers, Richard Jacob (RJ) Queener, and Mack Queener; sisters, Reba Queener Wilson, Lela Queener Lovely, Mary Queener Mowell, Marie Odom Queener, Ruth Queener, and Maude Queener.

Elizabeth Marlow and special son in law, Ira Marlow of Caryville
Granddaughter...............................Kara Massengill Williams
Beloved Great Grandchildren.........Jonathan "Drew" Williams and Bailey Elizabeth Williams
Brother...........................................Doyle Queener

The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 6-8PM. Laura's funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:00PM at the Ridgeview Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvis Richardson, Rev. David Crowley and Rev. Bill Waddell officiating. Her interment will follow at the Ridgeview Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of all arrangements
