Larry Gene Williams, age 71 of Clinton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his home.
Born July 7, 1953, in Harriman, Tennessee, to the late Gerald Eugene Williams and Fleeta Burt Qualls, Larry lived a life filled with faith, family, and a deep love for history. A devout and dedicated man of God, he was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton, where he joyfully greeted his church family at the door and served as Assistant Sunday School Teacher.
Larry's passion extended beyond his faith. A true historian, he was an active participant in Civil War reenactments with the 29th Tennessee Regiment and the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV). He worked as a Land Surveyor for ACHW before transitioning to Sales Associate at ACE Hardware in Clinton, where he continued to connect with his community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon Williams; his sons, Brandon Williams, Marty Thurman, Shane Thurman and wife Nikki, and Aaron Thurman and wife Melanie; his brother, Jeff Williams and wife Debbie; his grandchildren, Kandace Roberts and husband Josh, Isaac Thurman, Jordan Thurman, Journee Thurman, and Porter Thurman; great-grandchildren, Ava Roberts and Konnor Roberts; niece, Samantha Lewis and husband Jeff; nephew, Jason Summers.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Second Baptist Church, 777 Public Service Lane, Clinton, TN 37716. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow.
