Larry (Mac) McAfee, age 70 passed away suddenly on May 9, 2010 at his residence. Mr. McAfee was born on September 25, 1939 and was a lifelong resident in Andersonville, TN. He graduated from Norris High School and attended Knoxville Business College. He served in the United States Air Force and later served and retired from the Air National Guard. He retired from the University of Tennessee where he served as a police officer for over 27 years. He was an avid fisherman, a devoted NASCAR fan, enjoyed gardening, and deeply enjoyed woodworking. He was a faithful sponsor for the St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Gladys McAfee and his brother, Bob McAfee.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Tess McAfee; Sons, Jeff (Donna) McAfee of Andersonville, TN, Larry (Julie) McAfee of Madison, AL. Grandchildren, Keagen, Aubrey, Mc Kenzie, Connor, Natalie, Spencer, Brady, and Avery. Brothers, James McAfee, Steve McAfee, Walter McAfee; Sisters, Peggy Tibbetts, Barbara Hayes. Stepdaughters, Kristie (Mark) Smith of Andersonville, TN, Jenny (Barry) Lambert of Murfreesboro, TN, and devoted nephew, Gordon Brooks of Andersonville, TN.
The family will receive friends at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. with funeral immediately following. Graveside service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Memorial Gardens. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements.
