Kenneth Allen
Evans
Sep 2, 1939 — Aug 17, 2026
Andersonville, TN
Kenneth Allen Evans, age 86, passed away on August 17, 2026, following a sudden accident at home.
A lifelong resident of Anderson County, Kenneth, with his brothers, spent decades in commercial construction with Evans Contracting Company, helping build much of the city he called home. He later continued alongside his daughter with K&F Construction. His contributions to the city of Clinton remain an important part of his legacy.
In his retirement, Kenneth enjoyed spending time at the lake with his dogs and, most of all, time with his family. He was known to drive his golf cart “around the block,” stopping to visit with friends and neighbors and never hesitating to share his opinion on anything and everything going on. Those conversations, his sense of humor and his unmistakable personality will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Francis Byrd and special friend Bryan McDowell and Rebecca Lynn Brown and husband Greg Brown; grandchildren, Lori Staudenmaier and spouse Brian, Myra Furhman and spouse Jordan, and Kenneth Harrell and wife Clara; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Alaina Staudenmaier and Mariella and Reece Harrell; and brothers, Hugh Von, Tommy, Jim, and Ronald Evans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evans; parents Leland and Lois Evans; and brothers, Clifford, Bill, Bob, Donald, and Larry Evans; and sons-in-law Eddie Purkey Jr. and Randy Byrd.
Kenneth will be deeply missed by his family and friends. They find comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and reunited with Mary. His legacy will live on through his family and the community he spent a lifetime helping build.
Receiving of friends will be held on Friday, August 21st 4:00-7:00 pm at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN, with the funeral to follow at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Main Street Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
