Kathy Cross Schmittling went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. She retired from H&R Block in 2006 following 32 years of employment. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, loved to sing for the Lord and recorded several CDs. Kathy, along with her singing partner Dale, visited many churches and blessed many with their songs and testimony.
She is preceded in death by husband Albert K. Schmittling and grandparents.

She is survived by parents, Ovia and Janis Cross; sister, Karen Phillips and husband Thad; grandmother, Minnie Lawson; special friend, caregiver and singing partner Dale Parton and special friends Diane Holder and Charlotte Rainey and many relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug.3, 2010, from 5-8:00pm at Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge with funeral service to follow at 8:00pm with Pastor Glenn Ellis officiating.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, Aug.4, 2010, at 10:00am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
