Obituary

June Love Pardue Turner born June 25, 1934, passed away October 7, 2024.

June grew up in Sweetwater where she studied piano and participated in many activities at the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater.  She served as the senior class treasurer before graduating from Sweetwater High School.  June attended Tennessee Wesleyan College where she studied and took organ lessons.  June's favorite recital piece was entitled "Finlandia."  As a secretary, June worked at various locations in and around Sweetwater as well as in Knoxville.  She was hired by the then UT Alumni Affairs office and retired from there in 2000 after 32 years of service. During retirement she served as the treasurer of the Norris AARP chapter.  Her remaining years were spent at Cumberland Village in LaFollette, Tennessee.

Precedent in death by parents George Dewey Pardue and Nena Love Pardue of Sweetwater, husband, James T. Turner of Norris, stepdaughter Elaine Turner Parsons; and brother Earl Pardue of Sweetwater.
She is survived by her sons J. Scott Turner (Molly) of Chicago, and Bryan A. Turner of Andersonville, TN.

June's family will have a private graveside service.
