Judith P. Potter (82) passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at home surrounded by family. She was born on December 13, 1941, to parents William Eugene Potter and Dorothy Eveleen Studebaker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She is preceded in death by parents, sister, Sandy Jones, and brother Harry Potter.
Survivors include her sons, Edward E. Grygiel, (aka the "Golden Child"), Clinton, TN; Mark A. Katona, (Ret. USN), Daniels, West Virginia and daughter, Carroll A. (Grygiel) Wright, Clinton, TN; grandson, Zachary T. Wright, Clinton, TN; great granddaughter, Kylee B. Wright, Clinton, TN; brother Tom Potter. Charleston, West Virgina. Other close family members are Laura Copeland, niece Jack Copeland, (USAF), great nephew and Sam Jones, nephew.
She retired from Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL) as a group secretary after many years of dedicated service. After retirement, she spent many years working with the Anderson County Election Commission during early voting and on Election Day. She always enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones. Judy always looked forward to getting together with her Ya-Ya Sisters, enjoying good food, conversation and laughs. Judy will miss each of you which includes her daughter, JoAnn Lowry, Robbi Carter, Tabatha McKinney, Sue Bolce, Peggy DePorter, Janet Baucum and Elaine Cooper.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the amazing care they provided in the final couple of weeks of her life.
The Celebration of Life will be Friday, August 30, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Holley Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, TN.
