JT Melton, age 84 of Clinton passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, July 18, 2021.   JT was born January 30, 1937 in Clinton to the late Matt and Alice Melton.  JT was a member of North Clinton Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  Throughout his life he loved traveling the country while he was a truck driver and was an avid outdoorsman.  In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his daughters, Jaynetta Neely and Tina Klika; 4 brothers and 5 sisters; step son, Michael Adkins; mother of his children, Carol Melton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Melton of Clinton; daughters, Helen Finley & husband Ed of Karns and Tisha Melton of Knoxville; step son, Chris Adkins & wife Carolyn of Knoxville; grandchildren, Rebekah Lincolnogger & husband David, Matthew Finley & wife Sydney, Brad Finley, Caleb Finley & Savannah Finley, April McGlothin & husband Chris, Kaitlyn McGlothin, Kameryn McGlothin, Angie Titus & husband Jimmy, Will Neely, Olivia Neely, Caleb Neely, Madison Neely, Jason Klika & wife Jessica, & Jessica Hammon & husband Kris; great grandchildren, Aliceson, Emily, Nolan, Neely, Keilan, Kavan, Isaac, & Annabelle; son-in-laws, Kenny Neely and Allan Klika; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of other family members.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services to follow in the chapel.  His graveside will be 10:00 am, Friday at Leach Cemetery.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  holleygamble.com
