Pettiford
Apr 1, 1936 — Feb 12, 2026
Joyce Jean Pettiford, age 89 of Clinton, passed away in her sleep on February 12, 2026, at her residence in Clinton, TN. Born on April 01, 1936, to Edgar and Ozell. Joyce was a hardworking and spunky; mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who leaves behind a legacy of joy and compassion. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
She was employed at Levi-Strauss for 28 years and retired from TTE Casting after working there for 9 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a very loving and giving mother, friend, grandmother, great-grandmother and an avid Vols fan. She loved going to the beach and going to Harrah's Casino with her daughter.
She was as lively as she was compassionate. She will be deeply missed and cherished for the love she gave us in her time here. Joyce's vibrant spirit and generous heart was a beacon to all that knew her. She was always ready to care for and serve others, which left a mark on her family and friends she made throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Ozell Easterwood Mashburn; her five brothers, Arnold, Arthur, Noel, James, and Junior; her sister, Lula Mae Brickman; and her loving son, Charles "Eddie" Pettiford.
She is survived in life by her loving daughter, Brenda Ogg; her loving grandson, Lance Pettiford; her great-grandson, Henry Pettiford; Lance's fiancé, Kayla Jenkins; but also, her soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Sawyer Pettiford. Joyce was very excited about the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Sawyer, who is to arrive this Wednesday, on the 18th. While she wasn't able to meet her in this world. The family feels blessed to know they crossed paths on their way in and out of this world.
Joyce will be remembered through countless stories and memories for her great-grandchildren from her grandchild, her daughter, and many friends.
There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM.
Holley Gamble Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pettiford family.
