Joseph F. Napolitano, a devoted servant to his country, his community, and his faith, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 80.

Born on May 21, 1945, in Buffalo, New York, Joseph was raised with strong values of service, hard work, and integrity. After graduating from high school, he pursued his passion for learning and earned a bachelor's degree in history. Inspired by a sense of duty and a desire to serve his country, Joseph enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably and developed the discipline and leadership that would define the rest of his life.

Following his military service, Joseph made his way west to Los Angeles, California, where he joined the Los Angeles Police Department. Over the course of a distinguished career, he served the city with courage and commitment, earning the respect of his peers and the gratitude of the community. Known for his steady presence and sharp mind, Officer Napolitano approached each day on the force with a deep sense of responsibility and care.

Outside of his professional life, Joseph, remained a history buff, often found reading historical novels, watching the history channel, and engaging in thoughtful conversations about the past and its lessons. He also had a passion for flying airplanes and scuba diving. In Joseph's later years he moved to Clinton, TN to live with family. There he was a member of Second Baptist Church of Clinton and loved to sing in the choir.

Joseph is survived by his daughters; Jennifer Bowling (Mark), Lupe Napolitano, Stephanie Napolitano, Jeannen Calvin (Glenn), and Andrea Napolitano; many grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Donna Napolitano; his parents, Joseph F. Napolitano and Ellen Napolitano; and brother, Steve Napolitano.

A memorial service with military and police honors will be held on Friday July 11, 2025 in Knoxville, TN at the East Tennessee Veteran Cemetery. Joseph will be laid to rest with the dignity he so richly deserves. Donna Napolitano, his wife, will be laid to rest with him.

Joseph Napolitano lived a life of quiet strength, humble service, and unwavering dedication. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
