Johnny Harold Reed, age 71 of Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was an accomplished inventor designing software for PET scanners. He was an avid golfer who loved music and football. He played the guitar and banjo. Above all, he cherished his wife, children, and grandbabies.

His parents, Johnny and Lorene Reed and sister, Brenda Lloyd preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Rhonda and his cherished children, Dr. Heather Reed-Day and husband Nathan, Eric Reed and wife Aleesha, Zach Reed, and Allison Reed. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Maddox, Sawyer, Rowan, Jonas, Xavier, Abby, and Liam.

Receiving of friends will be from 12 noon until 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm and a graveside service will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Garden.

Family wishes to thank UT Hospice for their excellent care, kindness, and compassion shown to Johnny and his family.  A special thank you to Rachel, Elizabeth, Kathy, and Dr. Pearman.
