Johnny "Lead Nickel" Hawkins, age 60 of Briceville, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born on June 30, 1956 to the late Alma Jean and Carl "Muncie" Edward Hawkins in Anderson County. He attended Willowbrook Baptist Church and enjoyed hearing Pastor Roger Leach preach. He also loved reading his Bible. His hobbies included four-wheeling, coon hunting, and his CB Radio where he used the handle "Lead Nickel". Johnny had a knack for telling stories. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Hawkins; sister, Linda Hawkins.

The family will receive friends at the Willowbrook Baptist Church on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 5-7pm with the funeral service to follow at 7pm with Pastor Roger Leach officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Oak Grove Cemetery on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2pm for his graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home.
