Obituary

John G. Moore Sr. 92 passed away on December 19, 2017.
He is preceded in death by wife Anne Keene Moore and son John G. Moore Jr.

John is survived by son Terry K. Moore (Suzan)
Grandchildren…. John G. Moore III (Amy), Beth Moore, Kevin Moore (Jessica), Susanne Fields (Matt), Blake Moore, Darcy Schrider (Matt), Cynthia Wright (Wesley), Melody Fish (David), Steven K. Moore (Kendahl)

John retired form Oak Ridge National Lab at age 55 after a 30 year career as a Research Chemist. He has three patents to his name. In his retirement he became a well-known water color artist with exhibits at the Clinton Public Library annually for several years. He also raised African violets and orchids in his greenhouse. He and his wife Anne traveled all over the U.S., Canada and Europe. He always said no one on their death bed said "I am so sorry I spent so much time traveling the world".
He was an outstanding photographer and gave many travelogues for family and friends. He loved photographing birds, wildlife, mountain landscapes and of course his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His entire life he was an opera fanatic and longtime supporter of Knoxville Opera Company, KSO, WUOT and PBS.
He and Anne were long time members of Memorial UMC where he taught many different Sunday school classes and sang in the choir for over 50 years.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Clinton Physical Therapy and especially his friends at Take Charge Fitness.
By his request there will be a private family gathering only, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Memorial UMC Choir and Music fund.
