John George (Jay) Hewitt of Clinton passed away November 16, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center. Jay was born in Anderson County on March 14, 1920. He was a member of Deep Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Jay was a WWII Air Force Veteran and retired from Reeder Chevrolet of Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar & Josephine Melton Hewitt; brothers, Mayo Hewitt & wife Jessie and Ray Hewitt.

Grandson: Scott Hewitt
Sister-in-law: Louise Hewitt Sharp
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2-4pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 4:00pm with Rev. Jerry Copeland and Rev. Allen Giles officiating.
