John Greene Moore Jr. - 67, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday November 12, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge.
John squeezed every ounce out of the life he was given. John always took the time to notice the little things. He was the guy if one asked "What color is the sky" John would not respond with simply "blue", but "depends", he loved a good sunset. He was a man who paid close attention to detail. John was an avid lover of the outdoors. He traveled to all corners of the globe either hunting, fishing, playing golf, or simply soaking up life with friends and family. John was a natural artist; art was a way for him to show his appreciation not only for his life but life itself. He never missed an opportunity to make the most of every moment. A friend to all and an enemy to none, John Moore loved people and thanked God for them. He only lived to be 67, but JG lived enough life to be 134. He was an awesome husband and friend to his wife Joyce. He openly thanked and praised her for all that she did for him. He thanked her for every little and big thing she did out of a dear love for him and his children and of course his grandchildren. He was grateful for the energy and love from his grandchildren. Don't feel bad for John Moore he wouldn't want that. If there was one thing we learned from JG is don't make people feel bad for you, be strong and love all. Preceded in death by his mother, Anne Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 22 plus years, Joycelyn King Moore, originally from Oak Ridge, and their son William "Blake" Moore, his three children by first wife, Brenda Sproles McCowan, John G. Moore, III, Kevin Michael Moore and wife Jessica, Susanne Moore Fields and husband Matt. John and Joyce have been blessed with a wonderful relationship with his first wife. He is also survived by 7 wonderful grandchildren, Ashton and Spencer Moore; Landon, Levi and Campbell Moore; Jacob and Grant Fields. They referred to him as "Paw" which made him smile from ear to ear. John is also survived by his father, John G. Moore, Sr. and brother, Terry Moore and wife Susan. He leaves behind lifelong friendships that will carry the memory of his adventurous spirit. He took great pleasure in all moments with his family and wonderful friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1pm at First United Methodist Church, 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN with Rev. Troy Forrester officiating. Receiving friends will follow at 2pm.
