Obituary


John Louis Braden, age 78 of Briceville, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his residence. John was born on March 19, 1935 to the late Fred and Mattie Braden in Anderson County. John Worked for Consolidated Coal Company for 23 years and was a member of the United Mine Workers Association. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Family was a large part of John's life, and he especially cherished his grandchildren. John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Indian Bluff Baptist Church. John said that he preached his life while he lived it. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by brothers, Ned Dalton, Carson Braden, and Gene Braden, and sisters, Texie Huskey and Mildred Ward.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Friday, March21, 2014 from 6-7:30PM with a funeral to follow in the chapel at 7:30PM with the Bro. Terry Lee Braden and Bro. Larry Thornton officiating. Friends and family wishing to attend John's graveside service will meet at Graves Gap Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11AM interment.
