Obituary


Joseph Hezekiah Moore, Jr., 85, of Clinton Tennessee, passed away peacefully Sunday October 12, 2014 with his family by his side.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Joseph Hezekiah Moore, Sr., his mother Mary Elizabeth Moore, his sister Edna Moore, his brothers Goldman Moore and Avon Moore, his daughter Shirley Moore and his granddaughter Michelle Moore.
Joe is survived by his daughters Mary Marie Lawson and Michelle Borja, his sons Gary Moore, Michael Moore, Charles Moore, his sisters Cora Lee Wilson and husband Clifford Wilson, JoAnn Hill and husband Jack Hill, Mary Cate and husband Cecil Cate, his brother Jess Moore, his grandchildren Erik Hill, Billie Jo Underwood, Elizabeth Thomas, Michael Moore, Ean and Evy Borja, his great grandchildren Zachary Hill, James and Hayden Thomas, Allie and Brintlee Underwood, Madison and Kyle Kaczynski, his long-time friend and former wife Annette Moore as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Joe began his career working as a deliverer for Hendrickson Feed Store in Clinton where he quickly demonstrated quiet but strong sales skills. Before long, he was running the store while the owners' were out of town. Over time his responsibilities increased until Joe became a partial owner and manager of Hendrickson Feed Store. He ran the business for over 55 years before the store closed in 1995.
Most will remember Joe as an avid fisherman spending his days off on the lake. He loved gardening and became a local expert on how to care for plant life. Joe enjoyed a good football, basketball or former Knoxville Blue Jays baseball game. Joe will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 15 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 16 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev.
