Obituary

Jesse Lee McKamey, age 50, of Clinton, TN, passed away on April 30, 2025, at Tennova Medical Center in Knoxville.

Jesse was witty and clever and will be deeply missed by everyone. He loved music and was a professional drummer. He was an active member at Second Baptist Church in Clinton, where he played the drums in the church band. Throughout the years, he has played the drums for several bands. He had a strong love for music that was rooted back to his father, Cleo McKamey Jr. He taught and supported Jesse in his love for music from the beginning.

Jesse and his wife Kelly enjoyed traveling and spending time with their dogs Loki and Jax. He was a system technician II at BBHC LLC and studied CITNetwork at Pellissippi State.

Jesse is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleo McKamey Sr. and Creola McKamey, who lived in Lake City, TN.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Marie Evans-McKamey; daughter, Emily McKamey; mother, Dale Duggar and husband, Larrell Duggar; father, Cleo McKamey Jr. and wife, Pattie McKamey; stepbrothers, Darrick Duggar and wife Jamie, Eric Duggar, Aaron Myers and wife Jessica Craddock-Myers; grandparents, Dorothy and Carl Hembree; aunts and uncles, Amy Hembree and husband Michael Claudette (Cricket) and husband Greg Kern, Claude McKamey, Steve and Mary McKamey; Kelly's parents, Douglas and Mary Evans; as well as her siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Jesse had many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him. He also had many friends, band members, and co-workers who are left behind to mourn his loss.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the following: Second Baptist Church in Clinton, TN, Pastor Mike Thompson and Worship Pastor Kerry Hatmaker, and Beech Grove Baptist Church in Rocky Top, TN, for the prayers and concern. All the prayer warriors who have supported us with prayers and loving care. Second Baptist band members: Andy Mounger, Steve Newman, Jarrett Bonesteel, and all others that aren't mentioned here. Doctors and nurses at Methodist Medical Center and Thompson Oncology Group of Oak Ridge and everyone else who has lifted Jesse's name in prayer and helped in any way.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Second Baptist Church in Clinton, TN, with a memorial service to follow.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  holleygamble.com
