Jerry Jackson Thompson, age 74 of Heiskell, TN, went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2015. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in Amory, MS and spent most of his adolescent years there. He eventually moved to Birmingham, AL and attended Woodlawn High School where he was known as "Batman". Jerry took up permanent residence in Heiskell, TN. He spent many years working in the trucking industry; however, his love and passion was for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman and a fan of Alabama Football. Jerry was preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Ivous Thompson of Birmingham, AL. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Thompson; brother and sister in-law, Sonny and Cory Thompson; son and daughter in-law, Tracy and Lynn Thompson; son, Kelly Thompson; daughter and son in-law, Candy and David Neubert; son and daughter in-law, Chris and Julie Thompson; son, Jason Thompson; grandchildren, Jackson, Cameron, Johnny, Angie, Zachary, Jacob, Anna Claire, Lily Kate and Ella; great grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, Bently, Destiny, and Eden.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 21st from 4-6 PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. Graveside service will be Sunday, March 22nd at 1:00 PM at Grandview Memorial Garden in Clinton. Pallbearers will be Tracy, Kelly, Chris, Jason, Johnny, Jacob and Zachary.
