Jerry Lynn Haynes, 75, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was called to be with Jesus, Saturday, February 13, 2016, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years Dixie Wilson Haynes, son Jerry Haynes Jr. and wife Debra, daughter Vana Haynes DeMarinis, son Chris Haynes and wife Karen, son-in-law Marcus Idles, daughter Charlotte Haynes Roberts and husband Andrew, grandchildren Brandon Haynes, Lauren Haynes Justice, Megan Haynes Jenkins, Nicholas DeMarinis, Jerry Haynes III, McKinley Idles, Ashton Idles, Maddy Idles, Wilson Roberts, great grandchildren Lucas Justice, Kate Haynes, Callie Justice, Case Haynes and Hadlee Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas McKinley Haynes and Anna McDaniel Haynes, step-mother Theo Haynes, sister Bertha Wells, Geneva Haynes, Ruth Rose, Ruby Robertson, brothers, Kenneth Haynes, Calvin Haynes, Garland Haynes, Edward Hayes, step-brothers Charles Parsley, Howard Parsley and daughter, Labrisca Sue Idles.
Jerry was ordained as a deacon at Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church where he served for several years before becoming a member of and serving as a deacon at Moran Baptist Church until his passing. He also served as a Sunday School teacher for decades, loved to drive the church bus and visit the sick and elderly in the community.
He was a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge # 376, Clinton, Tennessee. He loved his kids and grandkids, golfing, yard sales, the Tennessee Vols, and his "Pretty Blue Eyes" of 54 years.
Visitation will be from 5-7PM Monday, February 15, 2016 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Moran Baptist Church at 1:00PM with Rev. Rick Howard and Rev. Alvis Richardson officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest at R.W. Long Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. www.holleygamble.com
