Jerry Wayne Gibson, age 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jerry was a Navy Veteran who received the National Defense Service medal while aboard the USS Leahy. He loved to study God's Holy Word, talk about and teach his children and grandchildren about it, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking with family and friends. Jerry had an infectious laugh, and when he laughed, others wanted to join in. He retired from Eagle Bend Manufacturing after 25 years of dedicated service.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Elizabeth Gibson; grandmother, Emma Ivey Goins; and grandfather, Ericus Goins.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Gibson; children, Jonathan Gibson & wife Katrina of Clinton, Sarah Bunch and husband Gary of Clinton, Susan Disney and husband Brad of Knoxville, and Jerry Gibson, Jr. of LaFollette; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; step-children, Stephanie Alley and husband Mike of Knoxville and Laura Smith of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Charles Edward Gibson of Powell and David Gibson of Jacksboro; sister, Annette Patterson of Richland, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.  His funeral service will follow in the chapel with his son, Rev. Jonathan Gibson, and Bro. Bill Vance officiating.  His graveside will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Osbourne Creek Cemetery in Strunk, KY, with full military honors at the graveside conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. holleygamble.com
