Jean Sadler Smith of Oak Ridge, TN passed away Friday afternoon, April 9th, 2010 along with her sister, June Miller, in an auto accident. Jean was born in Paris, Texas, November 15, 1927. She was a member of both Highland View and New York Ave Churches of Christ, Oak Ridge, TN. Jean began her career with the Department of Energy (DOE) at age 17 and retired as the Publications Editor of the Nuclear Safety Magazine in 1985 with DOE. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Cora Sadler; sisters, June Miller, Alice Minchey; brother, Jack Sadler.

She is survived, loved and will be dearly missed by: daughter, Karen Moore and grandchildren Christopher and Courtney Moore of Tampa, Florida;Son, Robert Smith and grandson Kenton Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; Sisters, Margaret Allen, Nancy Kahn and Beth Haskell along with their brother, John Sadler; Dear friends, Jimmy T and Patti Smith of Lenoir City, TN, and her "Therapy Group" a group of friends who went to the mountains each year and were her second family.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, April 16, 2010 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, TN. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Clinton, TN. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may also be made to Alpha House Inc., a transitional home for women in Oak Ridge,TN.
