Obituary


Jean Montgomery, 83, of Oak Ridge and Clinton, passed away, Monday, June 20th, 2016 at home with her family at her bedside. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a committed volunteer at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical. A retired registered nurse she spent her life attending to the needs of others with unfailing dedication. Her selfless, undying love will be missed by all whose lives she touched, but her time here has passed and she departed to be with those who have gone before her.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Reg, her parents, brothers and a sister. She is survived by one brother Carl Poe (Jean) Lumpkins and four daughters, Donna (Gary) Wendell, Deborah (Greg ) Ackerman, Susan (David) Pommenville, and Amy (Ed) Butcher. Eight grandchildren, Clinton, James, Justin, Joshua, Jeremiah, Lesley, Ellie and Sarah as well as five great grandchildren, Tori, Celeste, Annabelle, Montgomery and Everett.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 on Saturday, June 25th at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with a memorial service following in the chapel at 2:00 with Chaplain Jack Sills of Methodist Medical and Pastor Larry Blakeburn of First Cumberland Presbyterian officiating. Graveside service will follow at Grandview Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association. www.holleygamble.com
