Janice Owens, age 67 of Lake City passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Knoxville. She and her husband were former owners of Mountain Lake Marina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Dortha Cross.

Joseph Owens & wife Tammy of Springsboro, Ohio

Nine grandchildren.

Jan's sons, Brad Wade and Jerry Cooner, were active in the athletic programs as students at Butler High School in Vandalia, Ohio. The Vandalia Butler Optimist Club has established a one-time memorial scholarship for a Vandalia-Butler senior athlete to be awarded in the spring of 2012. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 12:00 to 1:00PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with memorial service to follow at 1:00p.m. with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. Services will be Sunday, June 12th at 2:00p.m. in the chapel of Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio with Rev. Ron Hajarian officiating.
