Obituary

JAMES HAVARD WILLIAMS, SR. - Age 94 of Powell, passed away to be with Jesus on October 2, 2025, surrounded by family. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN and enjoyed singing in their choir over the years.

He was well known in the community for his sayings, "Good Morning," no matter the time of day, "People will never know how I suffer" and "Happy Ground Hog Day," instead of good-bye, as well as his two-dollar bill tips. Proud to be of Welsh decent, he was a mechanic, carpenter, millwright, CPA and General Manager of many RV parks across the country. He was a graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, a member of Gamma Nu Literary Society, Air Force Korean War Veteran, bridge player and traveler by RV through much of the USA.

Preceded in death by his parents, Oswald Howell Williams and Mae Antoinette Dixon Williams; brother, Robert George Williams; son, James Leo Williams and daughter, Sandra Lynn Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Marcelle Williams who put up with and cared for him for 53 years; sister-in-law, Helen Klier Williams; daughters, Maegan Ellyn Polak, Melissa Helene Bobb and husband Mark; sons, James Havard Williams, Jr. and wife Sandie, Thomas Kim Williams and wife Kelly; stepdaughters, Joelle Dyan Bishop and husband Daniel, Melanie Kay Christensen; stepson, Darrel Gene Gill, Jr. and wife Carolyne; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His parting words to you would be "Happy Ground Hog Day, hope to see you in Heaven."

No services shall be held but In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 7171 Oak Ridge Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37931.
