James "Jim" Melvin Sanford, age 67 of Oak Ridge passed away suddenly Monday, July 23, 2018.

Jim was the owner and operator of the Oak Ridge Truck Driving School where he most enjoyed teaching those who needed a second chance to drive 18 wheelers. He was a Vietam Marine veteran and will most be remember for his loving and giving spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Helen Sanford; sisters, Betty Oglesby and LaDonna Mingus.

Jim is survived by his children, James M. Sanford, Jr. and wife, Shaunelle,  Dawn Sanchez an husband, Dennis; Step-children, Andy Allen, Brenda Allen and Sarah Ritchie; sisters; Sharon Vance and Sarah "Kitty" Phillips; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration Of Life will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at 7 pm at Ever Heart Baptist Church, 6900 Apollo Road; Knoxville, TN 37921 with Rev. Scott Allen and Mr. Tim Jacobs officiating.
