Col (R) James (Jim) Q. Webber, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at Ben Atchley Veteran's home in Knoxville. Jim was born and lived in Clinton until 1981, when he and his wife moved to Chattanooga, TN.  They then moved to Knoxville in 2021 to live with their daughter and son-in-law. He graduated from the University of TN in 1961, and then in 1970, he received his Master's Degree from Union College in Kentucky.

He retired from the Army National Guard with 37 years, 10 months, and 10 days at the rank of Colonel, where his last assignment was  Commandant at the Tennessee Military Academy. He started his career as a school teacher, teaching at Oak Ridge Jr. High and High School and the Webb School in Knoxville for 11 years.  He then joined City and County Bank as Vice President and was Branch Manager in Oak Ridge for 9 years. During his time in Clinton he served on the Clinton City Council, CUB board of Directors, and active in the Clinton Jaycee's where he was key to the Jaycee park and pool. He then went to work for TVA as a Sr. Contract Administrator until moving to TVA Chattanooga in 1981 as the Senior Control Analyst until his retirement. He enjoyed collecting antiques, restoring antique cars, and even won a National First Place in Deaborn, Michigan, for his 1935 Roadster. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their Holiday Rambler RV with the Holiday Rambler's Club and visiting many different states.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Foust Webber; his parents, James Q. Webber, Sr., and Nana Belle Webber; and his brother, Gerald Webber.

He is survived by his daughter, Regina Webber Loy (Steve), son, James (Jay) Quinton Webber, III, (Angela).  Granddaughter, Molly Elizabeth Webber Justice (Caleb), and grandson, James (Quinton) Quinton Webber, IV.  Great Granddaughters Luna and Wren Justice. Sisters Phyllis Rollins, CT, and Brenda Schluter, Ohio.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home for their love, support, and the special attention they gave to Col. Webber during his time there, and the staff at Amedisys, especially his nurse, Chelsea.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.  His graveside service will immediately follow at Woodhaven Memorial Garden with full military honors at graveside conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jim's name be made to Ben Atchley State Veterans Home, Activities Department in Knoxville, TN, or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
