James Allen McConkey, age 78 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church. James was born in Sweetwater, TN on December 1, 1933 but lived most of his life in Clinton. He married his beautiful wife, Patsy Jane Hooks McConkey, on August 10, 1956. He retired from the Dept. of Energy in 1992 and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Allen McConkey; daughter, Myra Jane Glandon; parents, James Lloyd and Ruth Elvira Jones McConkey; father and mother in-law, Elmer Lee and Nancy May Cook Hooks.
