Obituary


James Ralph Hunley, Sr., age 90, of Andersonville, passed away on January 17, 2014. He was born on December 26, 1923, in Anderson County. Known to friends as Ralph, he was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church in Andersonville, TN, graduated from Norris High School and was in the Army during World War II. He worked at Edward Valve, in East Chicago. Ralph returned to Tennessee and worked at Y12, and then at the University of Tennessee, College of Engineering until his retirement on December 30, 1986.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Bernice Stooksbury Hunley; parents, Arsillus Hunley and Dossie Davis Hunley; brothers, Thomas Hillard Hunley, and Francis Kelley Hunley; son, James R. Hunley, Jr.; and great grandson, James Ray Hunley.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 20, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with a service to follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Donnie Disney and Rev. David Seiber officiating. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 21, at Norris Memorial Gardens at 11:00am. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
