Obituary


James Marion Farmer, Sr., (Jim) a resident of Clinton for more than 60 years, passed away at Summit View of Lake City on Saturday, July 19 after living with Alzheimer's Disease for more than 10 years. He was 90 years old.

Jim was a long time member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton, where he served in the church's benevolence ministry that provides food and clothing for the less fortunate. He was a man of great kindness and compassion.

He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II and in the Air Force reserves post-war.

Left to celebrate his memory are Alice, his devoted wife of 63 years, his daughter, Kathy Farmer of Waldorf, MD (Kim Heidebrecht), his son, Randy Farmer of Clinton, TN, grandchildren Devin Farmer (Stacy Farmer) and Lindsey Kennedy (Nikolas Kennedy), and great grandchildren, Lauren Farmer, Brayden Kennedy and Blake Kennedy and countless friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his oldest son, James Marion Farmer, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26, at Second Baptist Church in Clinton from 5:00 until 6:30 pm, after which there will be a celebration of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of donations to his favorite charity, Second Harvest of East Tennessee, or to the Pat Summitt Foundation as a memorial. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
