James W. (Bud) Elliott, age 71 of Powell, went home to be with Jesus October 3, 2011. He was born December 12, 1939 in Anderson County and grew up in Heiskell. He was a long time member of Bishopville Baptist Church. He was a proud Veteran, serving six years in the U.S. Army. Bud loved cars and enjoyed working on them. He also enjoyed watching his westerns, Andy Griffith and playing cards with his family. He was known for his great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He will be deeply missed by all.
Preceded in death by his parents, James Harvey and Minnie Whitaker Elliott; sisters, Dorothy H. Stringfield and Betty S. Hill

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 6th from 6-8PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be at 8 o'clock in the chapel with Chaplain Mike Beach officiating.
