James Grady Cantrell, age 60, of Powell, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026. Born on August 28, 1965, he was the son of Franklin and Ruby Jewell Cantrell, who preceded him in death, along with his daughter, Courtney.

James served in the United States Army and attended St. Therese Catholic Church. He sought to learn as much as he could about the Catholic faith and longed to grow closer to God. He was a devoted, loving husband, as shown by how he cared for Amy when she moved to America. She cannot express how thankful she is for him and his love.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of eight years, Amy, son, Matthew, and grandchildren, Coby and Jayden.

His wife, Amy, would like to thank the Nguyen, Pham, and David families for the love they have shown.

A service to honor James’ life will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church and will be announced later.
