James Carl Brown (Downtown James Brown), age 78 of Heiskell pulled a .007 light on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 and raced into Heaven. James was a wonderful dad, friend, brother and drag racer, and most importantly a witness of our Lord and Savior. He had a multitude of friends with whom he had daily contact and who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Gregory Brown; father and mother, James Ernest and Stella Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie and Arthur Weaver, Dorothy & Jess Carden.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 27, 2012 from 5-8pm at Temple Baptist Church on Woodrow Lane in Fountain City. Funeral service will follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Charles Lawson and Rev. Charles Tindell officiating.

Graveside will be Saturday, July 28th at 10:00am at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers, Chris Graves, Perry Hill, Elijah Graves, Ethan Dew, Christopher Graves and Louis Trentham.
