Jack Alan Ray, age 87, of Norris passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019.  He was born in Jacksboro, TN to the late Chester B. (CB) and Frankie Ray.  Jack grew up in East Tennessee and North Carolina and graduated from Norris High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after 39 years of service.  Jack was a longtime member of the Norris Religious Fellowship.  He was active in his community - working with the local Boy Scout troops, assisting at the Norris Food Pantry, working at the Norris Community Craft Center as well as spending time tending his garden and working in his woodshop. Both as a young boy and throughout adulthood, Jack spent a lot of time on Norris Lake skiing, boating, and swimming.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years Allene and his two daughters and son:  Kathy Hall of Buena Vista, Virginia; Linda Vittetoe (Chris) of Blaine, Tennessee; and Doug Ray (Diane) of Culpepper, Virginia.  Jack was a proud grandfather to: Michelle, Kelly, Karly, Marissa and Zach and great-grandfather to Deklyn and Blaine.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 18 ^,th at the Norris Religious Fellowship, 23 Dogwood Road, Norris.  Visitation will be from 6 to 7 pm, with the Celebration of Life at 7 pm.  The Rev.
