J Will Brooks, 87, of Brooks Gap Road in Anderson County, TN went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
He was the son of the late Charles McGee Brooks and Margaret Emily Warfield Brooks of Anderson County, TN.
J Will was born September 13, 1928 in the house his father was born in on Brooks Gap Road. He was kicked in the head when he was 18 months old by a horse, which caused him to be mentally handicapped. He attended Moores Gap Methodist Church.
J Will loved people and had many "special" friends. Since the death of his parents, he has lived with his sisters.
He was preceded in death by his sisters and their husbands, Grace Brooks Walker and Obern Walker, Violet Brooks Geis and Walter "Walt" Geis, and by brothers-in-law, Chandler "Chan" King and George Crow.
He is survived by sisters, Maude Brooks King, Virginia Brooks Crow, and Betty Brooks Mosteller; brother-in-law, Bobby Mosteller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Holley Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton, TN is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 12 noon until 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, there will be a graveside service for J Will at the Norris Memorial Gardens of Norris, TN.
